Motion – Spaces of Human Experience (Gestalt Theory and its Applications Symposium)

On Friday 14th June 2019 we participated in the Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications (GTA) Symposium, Motion – Spaces of Human Experience. Prof. Monika Płużyczka talked about the Laboratory and her research on sight translation. Prof. Agnieszka Andrychowicz-Trojanowska introduced the basics of eye tracking methodology and described her studies devoted to foreign language teaching and learning. Ms Maria Castelas showed the use of eye tracking in computer-assisted translation. Mr Dominik Kudła presented how eye tracking is utilized in video games industry and assessing the quality of video games localization.

Presentation for students from Saarbrücken

On Tuesday 9th April 2019 we were visited by a group German philology students who came with Dr. Josef Schu from Saarland University. A short presentation on utilizing eye tracking in linguistics was given by Dominik Kudła MA and Mateusz Patera MA.


Pre-translation reading and the quality of sight translation, an eye tracking study

Our new publication has just been published. It describes our study on sight translation into Polish, English, German and Russian. We compared this type of translation and pre-translation reading. You can read or download the book in open access here.
